6 Miles in the Park

Bob and I met at Oyster Creek this morning and did 6 miles. We walked the first .75 miles and then did 1:00/1:00 intervals for the 2.5 miles from Dulles to Lexington, then walked the balance. I figured we would only do the 4.5 mile loop, but when we got back to the entrance we decided to keep on going. I'm glad we did.

Another 30 Minutes

I managed to slip another 30 minutes of 1:00/1:00 intervals this morning. It felt good to get out again. Bob and I plan to do a long run - between 4.5 and six miles on Sunday.

30 Minutes of Intervals

I hadn't been out since Sunday and was feeling really guilty. What a beautiful day it was to reconnect with running. I did intermittent intervals for 30 minutes and it felt great.

4.5 Miles Walking in the Park

Bob and I went to Oyster Creek Park this morning and did a complete loop of the park - 4.5 miles. The weather was pleasant and it felt good to be out. I was amazed at how much the park had changed since the last time I was there. The brush and trees had all filled in a it was back to its secluded feel.

30 Minutes

I was able to get another 30 minutes in today. It was a brisk walk, but at least I got out. I'm hoping to fit one more session in this week, plus a long run on the weekend.

30 Minutes Walking

I've pushed my weight gain to an uncomfortable 15 pounds and I'm not going to let it go any farther. I really started slacking off after Seabrook and I'm paying the price. So I've started back on the elimination diet and plan to get out 3 times during this week. I did squeeze in 30 minutes of walking today.

Dulles Dash 5K

Although all the forecasts indicated otherwise, the weather was fine for the 5K race this morning. It was a small race with a big turnout from Fort Bend Fit. A lot of our members placed in the top 3 for their age groups, including Bob, who came in 3rd. I was a bit sluggish this morning and finished in 42 minutes.

1:00/1:00 Intervals for 30 Minutes

This morning I decided it was time to run, so I did 1:00/1:00 intervals for 30 minutes. My plan is to do the same tomorrow morning at the Dulles Dash 5K. It looks like it might rain - oh, well.

40 Minutes

Boy do I feel like a slacker! This morning was the first time I got out all week. The weather was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky. Although it was sunny, the air was cool. I walked for 40 minutes, taking in the sights and sounds of spring. There were lots of turtles by the lake and several ducks with babies. I'm hoping to get out again tomorrow. Saturday is the Dulles Dash, 5K.

5ish Miles

The weather was interesting today. I waited until the late afternoon to go out for my long run/walk. It was cool and overcast and very humid. I decided to head for the Town Center garage running 1:00/1:00 intervals down Lexington to the mall and then walking to Town Center. I entered the garage, walked all the way to the roof and back down (shades of Austin) and then walked the rest of the way home. It took about an hour and 20 minutes, and my gmap pedometer tracked the distance at a bit over 4 miles. I'm not sure what the garage equated to.

Another 30 minutes with 1:00/1:00 Intervals

The weather was terrific again today. I did 1:00/1:00 intervals for 20 of the 30 minutes. The plan is to ease back into running. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a long run in this weekend as I have appointments on Saturday and the weather is supposed to be bad on Sunday.

Another 30 Minutes

The weather was wonderful today. I made it out during lunch and walked for 30 minutes and will try to get out again tomorrow. I signed up for the Dulles Dash 5K which is on Saturday, April 14th. It will be good to get back into race mode again.

30 Minutes of Walking

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I've done any training. The weather today was perfect for a run, but I chose to walk instead. It felt really good to be back out. My hope is that I will get back on track.
