Another 30 Minutes

I normally don't do three days back to back, but I had the opportunity to get in my third training today and I didn't want to miss it. I felt really bad last week, only getting out once and then not doing very well at the 5K.
I'll rest tomorrow and try to slip in another walk/run on Friday.

30 Minutes Walking and Running

My goal this week is to make it out 3 times. Today was a good start. I did intervals for about 10 minutes of my time. It started to drizzle near the end, but it was a welcome relief from the heat. Summer is definitely here.

Astros Race For The Pennant 5K

I had a feeling that I would be a bit sluggish this morning since I'd only trained once this week, and that was walking. Bob, Steve and I got downtown around 7:00 am and found Jen and her husband, Andrew. The sky was overcast and there was a great breeze. It drizzled for about 2 minutes and then cleared. It was a nice race overall, with Pei-Wei food at the after race party. My time was 43.38, more than 4 minutes slower than last year and about 2 minutes slower than the last 5K I did. Guess I need to get back in the "zone".

Finally - 35 Minutes Walking

My son was scheduled to move and with one distraction after another, I missed my trainings until today. I had wanted to run in prepartion for the Astros 5K this weekend, but have not. I guess I'll play it by ear and see how I feel on Saturday morning.

4.5 Miles in the Park in Beautiful Weather

Bob and I met at Oyster Creek Park this morning.We each had pretty full schedules so we met at 6:00am. The weather was terrific, almost cool. We briskly walked the 4.5 mile loop and saw a lot of out FBF friends. I only made it out 2 times this past week, but hope to do 3 next week. I want to be ready for the Astros 5K on Saturday, the 26th.

Another set of 1:00/1:00's

It was so much cooler this morning. There was actually a chill in the air. I did another set of 1:00/1:00 intervals and barely broke a sweat. Hopefully, I'll get out at least one more time this week.

4.5 Miles in the Park

Bob and I met at 6:30am this morning and did the full Oyster Creek Park loop, walking briskly. We would have done a full six, but I had Mother's Day Brunch at 9:30am and had to get home to get ready.

3rd Time Out

I made it out early this morning and it was still cool, walking another 30 minutes around the lake. There was a baby fish on the path. He was still wet, but I couldn't tell if he was still alive (he wasn't moving). I threw him back in the lake figuring he would either bounce back or serve as breakfast for another creature. He was gone when I made my way back "round. I guess I'll never know.....

Another 30 Minutes Walking

I wasn't able to get out until lunch time. It was pretty hot, although luckily there was a breeze. I walked briskly for 30 minutes. I haven't seen the pesky geese lately - wonder where they went. I signed up to do the Astros Race for the Pennant on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Bob and I did it last year. It starts in front of Minute Maid Park and ends inside the stadium. Each entrant get 2 tickets to an Astros game (in the nosebleed section).

I've been pretty tired -working hard and dieting. I decided to walk again. My goal is to get out three times this week and do my long walk/run on Sunday.

30 Minutes Mostly Walking

Since I've been back on the elimination diet, I've been feeling a bit weak (not as many carbs as needed), so I walked yesterday and tried to run today. I managed a few little intervals and then reverted to walking. A rain storm hit last night, making the air cool and fresh this morning.

1:00/1:00 Intervals for 30 Minutes

It was pretty hot this morning when I did my 1:00/1:00 intervals. I was so glad when my 30 minutes was up. I'm hoping to make it out 3 times this week, especially since it's going to be hard to get a long run in this weekend.
